Karen Clark

Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist

US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division

Please join the Portland Chapter of the PDCA for “Wage and Hour Requirements in the Construction Industry” with Karen Clark from the US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division in Portland, Oregon.

The US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division enforces the Fair Labor Standards Act, which establishes minimum wage and overtime pay standards.  In addition to the FLSA, the Wage and Hour Division also enforces other labor laws related to wage payment. Karen has prepared an informative presentation that will provide you with a solid understanding of the various federal labor laws that apply to the construction industry.

The objectives of Karen’s presentation are to:

  • Provide and in-depth overview of wage and hour requirements.
  • Discuss violations commonly found in the construction industry.
  • Answer all of your pressing questions so that you are prepared and well-informed.

Karen Clark has been with the US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division since 1997, beginning in Phoenix, Arizona as an investigator.
